I definitely feel the weight every day, but I also feel helpless to do anything about it. I don’t feel like me being a decent person is enough anymore. I also don’t feel like protesting or calling/writing congress will accomplish anything and I realize that I am one of those people in the comments saying “what can be done?”

I believe it's just the US and Europe that are and decline. You look at Russia and China, The opposite is happening there. America and the elites here are only obsessed with profits, they don't care about the infrastructure or its people.
