the best ADHD hacks work by changing your environment, not you !! AD Our environment can shape our behaviour, so sometimes changing what’s around us can make the behaviours we already have actually work in our favour. I’ve accepted I’m always going to scroll, so instead of constantly giving eveythjng I have to try eliminate that habit each day, I change where I scroll and use LinkedIn instead It means that scrolling can turn into learning, connections or building my business, which is my main priority right now as I’m navigating the move away from corporate finance and into building my brand! 🤍 @LinkedIn UK So this is one lil way I work with my brain, and not against it 🧠 #adhd #linkedin #adhdhack #scrolling #hack

It’s funny how people sometimes use the word “emotional” when what they really mean is expressing certain emotions in ways they recognize as emotional. Crying gets labeled emotional. Wanting to talk about your feelings gets labeled emotional. Being visibly hurt gets labeled emotional. But anger somehow spent years sneaking around disguised as something completely different. 😭 Yelling is emotional. Slamming a door is emotional. Throwing something across the room is emotional. Punching a wall because you’re furious is definitely emotional. Being too prideful to apologize, becoming jealous, shutting down because you’re hurt, or making an impulsive decision because you’re angry are all behaviors influenced by emotion too. And obviously this isn’t something every man does, just like women aren’t universally more emotional or better at handling emotions. People express themselves differently, and personality, upbringing, culture, and individual temperament matter enormously. But that’s exactly why reducing emotionality to gender misses the bigger point. Having emotions isn’t the problem anyway. Everybody has them. Emotional maturity is about what you do with them. Can you recognize that you’re angry before you turn that anger into somebody else’s problem? Can you admit you’re hurt instead of disguise it?
