@qob1d: based timur and uzun Hasan 🌹 Collab with my bro @user3850935587508 In 1400–1401, Timur (Tamerlane) launched a major campaign into Syria, confronting the Mamluk Sultanate. Two of the most important events of this campaign were the sieges of Aleppo and Damascus. Timur captured Aleppo in 1400 after a short siege. His forces defeated the Mamluk defenders and entered the city, which suffered heavy destruction and loss of life. The conquest of Aleppo strengthened Timur’s position in Syria and demonstrated the power of his army. After Aleppo, Timur moved south toward Damascus. The city was surrounded by his army, while the Mamluk forces attempted to defend it. After negotiations and continued pressure, Damascus surrendered in early 1401. Timur entered the city and ordered the collection of tribute and valuable goods. Many craftsmen from Damascus were also taken to Samarkand, Timur’s capital, where they contributed to the development of the city. The campaigns against Aleppo and Damascus were significant because they weakened Mamluk control in Syria and expanded Timur’s influence in the region. However, Timur did not establish a permanent empire in Syria, and Mamluk control was eventually restored. #fyp #History #timur #uzbek #turkmen
