Did you hear a difference? 🤔 Some people “feel” a difference. We tune our music to A=444 Hz, which puts the note C at 528 Hz. It’s slightly sharp of standard tuning. First off, there’s nothing especially “holy” about 440 hz (standard tuning). It was simply chosen by people in the 20th century as the set standard, but before that different orchestras used different tuning forks and tunings. 🎻 Also, let me set the record straight. We always get comments about using an alternate tuning being “witchcraft” or “new age” and in our case that’s just not true. (In fact, I’m over here rebuking witchcraft, ok? 🙅🏼‍♀️) Can music in general be used for witchcraft OR for worshipping God? Yes. Tunings are just another facet of music like musical keys, instruments used, etc. And I’m not going to name names, but some of the top standard tuning songs are filled with word curses, and I’d even go as far to say, spells. 🪄 So, who’s to say 444 Hz tuning isn’t more harmonious with the way God made creation? Sound waves actually flow through our cells and can move matter (ever seen those cool plates with salt and a speaker underneath making shapes?). So they definitely affect us one way or another. At our last concert we were talking with a guy and he said “yeah it’s pretty obvious that if they can make weapons out of them, they’re powerful.” I thought, well said! 🤯 God began to lead us to this alternate tuning several years back, and He just kept confirming it over and over, so we took the leap to record all our music in 444 Hz tuning out of obedience. Some small studies show this tuning could be healing and relieve stress and anxiety. We don’t look to it to be our healer—we look to Jesus. But can it be better for us and closer to God’s design, maybe in a similar way to sunlight vs. LED lights, or natural fibers vs. synthetic? 🤔 I’m excited for more studies to be done on this tuning vs. 440 Hz. In the meantime, we keep having people send us messages about how their migraines go away, their baby is finally soothed, or their anxiety goes away when they listen to our music.
