@gr8okeke: At the Emene Trailer Park along the Enugu-Abakaliki Expressway, Governor Peter Mbah stepped beyond the plans and construction site to engage directly with the men who use the park every day, the trailer/truck drivers. In his interaction with them, the Governor explained that the ongoing transformation is not simply about paving the park. It is about creating a state-of-the-art facility designed around their welfare, safety and the demands of their work. The new park will provide dormitory facilities where drivers can rest and sleep after long trips, shower facilities to freshen up, dedicated spaces for truck repairs and maintenance, and a fully paved environment that will make movement, parking and operations significantly better. Because infrastructure should not only look good on paper. It should work for the people who depend on it. At Emene, the vision is clear: a better park, better conditions for drivers, smoother movement of goods, and a better experience for everyone who passes through Enugu. This is infrastructure with people at the centre. Like it, it’s nice!
