I am guilty of both sides. The desire for clear, direct invitation from others who I also tell "you're always welcome to talk/visit me!" because I don't want to intrude or make people feel like they have to 😭

Can I ask you a question? If you were in a group chat with all of your friends where plans are made asking if people wanna go and do a certain activity, would you assume you’re invited to that? Or if you’re in a group and started making plans together would you assume you’re invited to that? It’s because my friendship group does have someone with ADD and it’s been getting really frustrating as he won’t come to a group activity and then complain that he wasn’t invited even though the person who planned it asked who wanted to come on the group chat or it was planned in front of him when we all hang out together

The worst time of my life was when in the middle of an argument with two uni colleagues that hanged out with me all the time, had slept in my home, we studied and partied together i said "when we hang out as a group..." and they interjected "you are not part of the group"
