At many smaller airports this is not the case. instead it may be a Customer Service agent, ramp agent, or supervisor. the agents are usually cross-utilized.

Yeah, they were contracted at work at the airport and I don’t think they get paid a whole lot maybe maybe at the most $15 an hour and whatever I fly and I fly a lot I give them a five dollar tip because what they do is taking you to the plane, but they know every secret way to get you to your gate on time in the airport. They know all the mix and crannies of an airport and they are always really courteous and talkative and like to learn about the people that they are helping so we need to be generally very nice to them and treat them with a lot of generosity.
