“We set out to make a documentary about a probie firefighters journey to becoming a man. Turns out, Tony Benetatos became a man in the course of about 9 hours on 9/11” - 9/11 documentary by French filmmakers Jules and Gédéon Naudet. If you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend. They have one of the only recordings of the first plane hitting the North Tower.

I remember this documentary came out a year or more after 9/11. It was originally about rookie firefighters and the morning they were shooting it was when the first plane hit the first tower. When it came out on tv it was introduced by Robert De Niro.

That was sweet at the end. “Tony what happened to you you’re a mess!” Every guy they saw walk back in was a blessing.
