thinking about how fashion was used as a device for rebellion in the games/panem & especially the covey’s choices to wear color as a means of expression. I feel like the movies don’t do justice/show us the influences region, trade, relation to the Capitol, & the outdated aesthetics of the world of Panem have on how fashion would look in the districts, so my production design brain decided to conceptualize how i would style each district based on those things! I was inspired by the way environments play a role in expression/style & the pieces I have in my wardrobe (either from second hang sourcing or passed down pieces from family members). My wardrobe has a post of post-war styles that inspired what I came up with for each district.
