He may have said buy anything she wants, but a large or expensive purchase should have been discussed beforehand. That should be common sense, because clearly he isn’t rolling in money. The man I was married to said the same thing to me, and I would never purchase anything that was way too expensive out of respect for his hard earned money without a proper discussion. Mind you, he never said I couldn’t buy anything, but the respect and communication is very important so you don’t come across as someone that’s taking advantage.
