@ktcrimlaw: Kevin Reddington’s effectiveness comes from his ability to brilliantly execute the fundamentals. It isn’t about long cons and trick plays. #criminallawyer #criminallaw #truecrime #truecrimetok #crimejunkie thank you @beanio for “secret law menu.” 🙏
I don’t understand, can someone make a bratz doll recreation about this?

People can not separate crime shows and reality. I get secondhand embarrassment for them. 🙄

I can count on one hand the amount of “tricks” available to defense attorneys and none of them are super 4d chess tricks. They boil down to stuff like “quick plead to the misdemeanor before the state realizes it should’ve charged a felony”

There are no surprises. A trial isn’t discovery. Years are spent agreeing on evidence and facts, it’s only the interpretation and coloring of the facts that is up for argument. While the defense may “surprise” the prosecution with an approach they didn’t expect over a certain fact, it would be a logical, methodical building of argument the prosecution could remedy moment by moment if it’s wildly off course. Even what the witnesses testify to is relatively known; if it differs wildly or changes from past statements, that’s a huge issue in credibility and obviously a situation to impeach the witness. New/mid-trial evidence or witnesses is difficult to allow and must be agreed upon and its inclusion absolutely cannot be litigated IN FRONT OF the jury. Everyone must agree that the jury sees the same information without argument of it being a factual or not.

It’s brainrot from people consuming too much true crime documentaries. They think they can see it so clearly because they have seen it enough on Netflix that they know what the twist is and each time it happens differently they justify it by moving the goalpost

The problem is that they genuinely believe they’re smarter than the professionals, that they found something that every single professional on the case missed

Alford Plea might have been an option, SODDI defense was an option, He tried to bifrucate the trial, admit to the Actis Reas (criminal act)and just argue the Mens Rea (mental state) and was denied. The insanity defense was an uphill battle and I think he did a great job. But yeah, it's not a TV show. There wasn't some bombshell in his back pocket, or surprise 11th hour witness who was going to blow the prosecution's case apart. Both sides were aware of the others witnesses, the facts, and the evidence.

Also sorry to spam but these people also all know each other. Folks may be shocked to see how often they’re in communication, depending upon judge and prosecutors/state ofc.

They’re hella dumb they act like they’re going to spend so much money on someone that the evidence doesn’t point towards just so there’s a plot twist and reveal that Patrick did it. They are not living in the real world.
