The important part is the sequence, not simply spotting one of these concepts in isolation. 🔹 1. Liquidity Sweep First, identify an important swing high or swing low where liquidity is resting. Below a swing low → Sell-Side Liquidity (SSL) Above a swing high → Buy-Side Liquidity (BSL) For a bullish setup, price can run below the previous low, take the SSL, and then reject those lower prices. For a bearish setup, price can run above a previous high, take the BSL, and then reject higher prices. Don't enter simply because liquidity was swept. A sweep can also become continuation, so we need confirmation from the following price action. 2. Market Structure Shift (MSS) After the liquidity sweep, wait for displacement in the opposite direction. For a bullish model: SSL Sweep → Bullish Displacement → Bullish MSS Price should break a meaningful short-term swing high. This tells us that short-term delivery has potentially shifted from bearish to bullish. For a bearish model: BSL Sweep → Bearish Displacement → Bearish MSS The important point is that MSS should not simply be an insignificant break of a tiny candle high/low. Look for a meaningful structural break accompanied by displacement. 3. Fair Value Gap (FVG) The displacement that creates the MSS may leave behind an FVG/imbalance. Instead of chasing the displacement candle, wait for price to retrace into the FVG. Bullish: SSL Sweep → MSS → Bullish FVG → Retracement → Buy Bearish: BSL Sweep → MSS → Bearish FVG → Retracement → Sell The FVG provides the potential entry area while allowing the trader to define risk around the liquidity event. Bullish Example 1. Price approaches a previous swing low 2. Price wicks below it → SSL is swept 3. Price aggressively displaces higher 4. Bullish MSS occurs 5. Bullish FVG is created 6. Price retraces into the FVG 7. Execute the buy 8. SL can be placed below the sweep low 9. Target the next meaningful BSL/liquidity Bearish Example 1. Price approaches a previous swing high 2.
