I dont believe thos theory only because right after I watched it the first time I was asking the internet all kinds of questions about the movie and I read that the beldam can not leave her world, THAT is why she sends the mice to get coraline every night and why the beldam moved the doll from the table where coraline left it and put it next to the door so that coraline would find the door and unlock it. the beldam can not leave her world. the parents were lured into the other world and that is how the beldam was able to trap them. I could continue but this theory would make sense only if the beldam was able to escape her world however she cant, she is confined to that world she was in.
