as a woman, it was fine until he started saying that they should meet up some time so he could introduce her to less mainstream anime. so often guys in fandoms assume that our interests or education are surface level and either try to quiz us (like the whole “name 3 songs” thing) or mansplain our own interests back to us. ofc there’s gonna be people making fun of his appearance (men were also making these comments) which isn’t okay, but people have every right to be put off by him assuming he already knows more anime than she does
