Every person I’ve ever talked to says to stay far far away from M&M.

With the invention of email & texting, there is absolutely no reason not to get an authorization in "writing" from a client in a legal case like this; if they have the time & capability to answer a phone call, they can also respond to a text or email. *this only applies to instances where the consent needed does not need to be in actual writing and/or notarized.

They advertise aggressively on YouTube, which makes me trust them as much I trust Honey (read: I don't)

My wife used them about 18yrs ago and they were terrible then. They didn’t make sure all hospital bills were accounted for before settling and she had to pay some of them out of pocket

When I worked PI, we literally had a form where we put the gross settlement amount and minimum net settlement amount for a client on each offer (we had a spreadsheet that could calculate net settlement from numbers on file). We’d call the client with those numbers. If the client wanted to settle, we absolutely could not settle the case until the client had docusigned that form. And, if the net amount came out lower than that form, the associate had to write a check for the difference absent exceptional circumstances. One associate I knew settled a case for way over value on verbal instructions from a client, which instructions were witnessed by other employees, and the firm held an internal trial on the matter. It was the eve of trial, and she couldn’t get the form signed in time. There was video footage. The client was going to get zeroed out. Didn’t matter. The firm still reprimanded her for breaking the firm’s written consent to settle rules.

settlement should never be based on the insurance available. it should be purely based on the loss.

My friend death with them had a terrible experience. We found out that they really don't like to go to trial and they will let the insurance company bully them over. My friend was better taking the first offer from insurance

So their defense was "Trust me bro"?? 🤣 How did they think that would help them? Everyone in law knows, or is expected to know, you document everything. Constantly get signatures and, if possible, recordings.

Question, can this be bar reviewed? And is it a slap on the wrist but record for any future malpractice?

Personal injury firms like those are a genuine plague, and are 50% responsible for absurd insurance rates.
