🚨 Scam Alert: If you stayed at a Best Western since last fall, your reservation details may already be out there. BWH Hotels, the parent company of Best Western, WorldHotels, and SureStay, confirmed a data breach where an unauthorized third party had access to guest reservation data spanning October 2025 to April 2026. Good news first: no credit card or payment info was taken. It wasn’t stored in the affected system. ⚠️ Here’s the part that matters. Names, email addresses, phone numbers, home addresses, reservation numbers, dates of stay, and even special requests were exposed. That’s everything a scammer needs to send a message that looks exactly like a real note from your hotel. Right name, right city, right dates. 👀 This playbook is already running. Booking.com travelers have been hit with the same reservation hijack scam. Fake payment verification texts and WhatsApp messages using their real booking details. A fresh warning about it went out just last month. ✅ So here’s the one habit worth building for the whole family: Never click a link in a hotel reservation email or text. If a message says your payment failed or your booking needs verifying, don’t tap it. Open the hotel’s app or type the website address yourself, then check your reservation there.
