Mate 😂. I was at the same unit as the bloke you’re talking about. Same trade and he was an instructor of mine. We are known as “Recy Mechs” or recovery mechanics formally. REME get bored with just fixing broken shit... it's one of their more endearing qualities. in the old days in BAOR they would have strapped a scorpions 75mm to the roof and welded a gun shield to the front of it.. that was actually pretty tame for them.
