Sadly, Bella isn’t just dealing with the stress of shelter life, she’s also dealing with a painful luxated left femoral joint, meaning her left hip is dislocated. Bella needs an FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) to repair her hip and give her the chance to walk, run, play, and live the happy life a young girl deserves. DX: Xray (RL & VD View Pelvis and both stifles)=The left coxofemoral joint is completely luxated dorsally from acetabulum. No fractures noted. A: Dislocated or luxated left coxofemoral joint (hip)P: Will need to have an FHO surgery done on the left coxofemoral joint. TX: Carprofen (50mg/ml) 1.6cc SQ RX: Carprofen 75mg 1T SID 7 days RX: Gabapentin 100mg 2C BID 7 days Reversed sedation with Atipamezole (5mg/ml) .35cc IM 9/7: Adoption Exam Completed Altered: Yes Tattoo/Scar: Yes - green tattoo Rabies given in RR leg; Flea and Heartworm Prevention given; Pyrantel given PO. Blood sample pulled to perform heartworm test: Microchip found. Pt is BAR. Limping left hind- has abrasion on left hip. ‼️Owner Notes‼️ Bella has caused owner to fall on multiple occasions and resulting in bruises. They are unable to control Bella's strength due to their age. Bella is very sweet and energetic but she has killed the neighbors chickens, chases cats and killed the owner's baby chicks. 📝Shelter Observation📝 9/7: Wagging tail at front of kennel. Easy to leash and walked well to yard. Enjoyed being petted.
