It took me three years to finish writing my longest fanfic 🙂↔️Across a pregnancy, postpartum, a job change, three moves, the loss of a pet, and more day-to-day life I just don’t remember. My readers were lucky to get a monthly update. 😅 I’m so proud to have actually finished it!

A lot of readers don't realize that we writers have lives. I'm currently struggling with writers block and life is busy for me 😭😅 Like my most popular fanfic and readers be asking me to only update that one books out of the other fanfics

I’m so anxious when I take longer to publish chapters, but haven’t gotten any type of comments rushing me (tho I do build up the guilt by myself). I got my first “hey can you drop this quicker why does it take you so long” comment here on TikTok last week on an edit that’s part of a series. My flabber was gasted 😬

Me! SAHM, two kids. At one point I was posting weekly. But I had a big move and health issues now it’s more like posting every two months. I try sooo hard to not beat myself up about it but I feel like I’m letting ppl down.

hell yes. I invented a rule for myself that was I could write in the wee hours but had to edit in daylight because ...being half-asleep doesn't make for the best fic! the year I wrote the most fic I had a 2yo and a 4yo ..but I was home full-time and they were good sleepers! when I started working again... people started complaining

I have a fic that I started in 2015 that I’m still working on today that thing has been through so many hiatuses it’s unreal. Hilarious to see how much my writing has improved along the way though its like a living roadmap of my progress lol

I have the best readers of my current WIP. Every time the wait between chapters is long, I'm so apologetic and they're like "girl, we'd rather wait for a good chapter than suffer through slop, take your time" 😭🥰😭

truck driver, drive 10+ hours a day, home weekends for 34-56 hours, but those 1-2 days are focused on family and errands and prep for next work week. I actually write when my trailer is on the dock getting loaded/unloaded, which takes 2-3 hours or sometimes 5+ hours every day or two depending

Oh my gosh, exactly! I’ve started college and it’s taking so much time and energy from writing fics. I’ve resorted to just posting headcanons cause I feel bad about not posting and it only takes a fraction of the time a full oneshot takes

I did 7 fics in 1 year and it was a lot of work and effort to do all of that let me tell you. Im on the last chapter of my biggest fic and im burned out at the moment. It will get done when I get to it at this point. I plan to drop a few one shots In October (if ya know ya know) and then go on hiatus for a while to give myself a chance to breath. writing fanfiction isn't a walk in the park its hours of dedicationand coming up with ideas and its a lot if work.1 chapter of my longest fic can take a total of 15 hours to write correct and post.

this me. i know i need to finish mine. its going to take a long time. the book im doing has 9 books and a tenth coming. but in total about 25-26 books. (Zodiac Academy) with a spin off. im reworking the first one because i hated how i turn it out. but writers block and just life got to me but i so far have 3 chapters done and planning to post soon

Admittedly when I was younger I just thought some authors just didn’t care as much because I’d see some people upload almost everyday. When I got older I realized it was because they had so much free time like when Covid happened authors were just unleashing all their work at once. Same when I was a teenager, similar reason why authors were also uploading so frequently because they were also teens. Now that I’m older I don’t mind waiting and it makes me appreciate the updates more because now I understand they took the time out of their schedule to update their fic. Love all you hard working authors ❤️
