@punkncoffee: On September 17, 1996, @_socialdistortion released 'White Light, White Heat, White Trash', their fifth studio album, via Epic Records. The album was produced by Michael Beinhorn. The band's official lineup during this period included Mike Ness on vocals and lead guitar, Dennis Danell on rhythm guitar, and John Maurer on bass. Although Chuck Biscuits is credited on the album and appears in promotional photos as the band's drummer, the drum tracks were recorded entirely by session musician Deen Castronovo. The title 'White Light, White Heat, White Trash' referenced the 1949 film 'White Heat' and the Velvet Underground album 'White Light/White Heat'- The album was promoted through singles such as "I Was Wrong", "Don't Drag Me Down," and "When the Angels Sing," a song dedicated to the memory of Ness's grandmother. It also included a cover of "Under My Thumb," originally by The Rolling Stones. This was the final studio album to feature co-founding guitarist Dennis Danell, who passed away in February 2000.
