@africanaonline: Princess Ruth Komuntale pens an emotional farewell to her late brother, King Oyo “As I collect my thoughts to write this farewell to my brother, I still find it difficult to believe that we are here today, literally saying goodbye to my brother. When I think about my brother, I think first of the person behind the crown. He was a God-fearing man. He could be quiet and reserved at times, but once he decided to talk, he could tell you story after story. And I loved listening to him. My brother and I loved reminiscing about the good old days—about growing up as children and all the ways we used to make Mama run for her money. My brother was also an amazing impersonator. He could mimic the way someone talked, right down to their voice and mannerisms. He had a gift for making people laugh, and he always knew how to brighten my day. Although my brother was younger than me, he often acted as though he were the older sibling. I suppose it was because he felt he had to protect Mama and me after Dad left us to be with the Lord. I thank God for allowing us to truly enjoy my brother for the 34 years of his life. There were family vacations, childhood memories, laughter, and so many moments that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. I watched my brother carry responsibilities that most people could never imagine. I watched him grow, learn, lead, pray, struggle, persevere, and love. I am incredibly proud of you, Amooti. I wish I could have more time with you. I wish I could hear your voice, hear one of your stories, hear one of your impersonations, or simply sit beside you and laugh about something that only the two of us would find funny. You have left behind love. You have left behind memories. You have left behind family. You have left behind a generation that will forever know your name. And you have left behind a legacy that will continue long after today. So, my baby brother, rest now. Your work on this earth is done. May God receive you with open arms. Thank you for the life we shared. Thank you for the memories. Thank you for being my brother. I love you, and I always will. May King Oyo’s legacy live on forever.”#africana #ugandatiktok #Tiktok
