@realhousewifeofdfw: Absolutely disgusting behavior. Praying for the family of this young woman who was betrayed by her medical providers. 🤍 #fypage #politicstiktok #politicaltok #politicalnews #prolifetiktok
Why is Texas choosing to not publish maternal mortality data until after the midterms?

Yeah, the problem is that "life-saving care" is a very vague medical term when applied to ACTUAL real world situations. It's a judgment call by the doctor as to whether or not the situation was truly "life-threatening" as opposed to risky. So they err on the side if not having the abortion, because they don't want their license threatened. Plenty of examples of this where the mother died.

Precisely! I know, well knew a woman who claims she couldn't get an abortion because her doctor said she couldn't do it for an ectopic pregnancy that actually was life threatening, and no, her doctor lacked common sense and the stones to do the procedure and then justify and defend it.

who decides if it's medically necessary? because it's not the doctor. if they decide, and a politician with no med school expirience disagrees, that doctor loses their job and/or gets sued. that's why doctors are delaying treatment and causing deaths/problems.

Thank you! I love how people choose to completely ignore what they don’t wanna hear.

Statistics show that pro life laws have led to higher infant mortality, and higher mother mortality. These are facts.

Doctors shouldn’t have to wait until a woman is dying “enough” to intervene.

well, unfortunately the law is vague and is open to different interpretations depending on which judge reviews it. its not negligence to be conscious of consequences from radical judges.

Who decides when the woman’s life is at risk? At what point is she sick enough to perform the abortion? Is it when she has raised blood pressure and clots? Where do we wait for her to be bleeding out? Who makes that decision and if a doctor makes that decision are they then going to be second guessed and prosecuted? That’s the problem!!!! That woman lost her life because the laws have no clear definition of when a woman’s life is at risk and an abortion can be performed, and nothing that protects the physician that performs out abortion from being prosecuted

You’re correct in saying it’s “legal” under certain life threatening conditions in all 50 states however that’s not the silent killer women are facing. It’s that the legislation was written in a way that restricts physicians from acting appropriately in fear of losing their license. Pregnancy is a life threatening medical condition and things can turn on a dime and doctors need to be able to work as they see fit. A medical provider should not have to prolong the suffering and risk the life of an autonomous woman based on what politicians feel is right or wrong morally. At the root of the majority of most pro-life legislation is the Bible which is unconstitutional.

The problem is that laws are arbitrary. When is a woman’s life at risk enough for a medical professional not to risk a prison sentence? Maybe the government should leave medical decisions to the professionals who are qualified to make them. Maternal mortality is up since the overturning of Roe. We knew this would happen. Your pro life laws are costing lives of women and infants. Bravo 👏

Ectopic deaths have nearly doubled nationally and are currently higher in abortion-ban states. These bans are making doctors drag their feet. Hundreds, including children, have died because of this.

Wildly uneducated take. We just had a woman die because the doctors refused the medically necessary abortion in Texas. Whether it was because of all the red tape involved or it didnt check the boxes, the removal of the care complicated the medical services she required and died because of it

The maternal death rates in states with the most strict abortion bans would say otherwise.
