@sunde.lounge: Activewear isn’t just about choosing a nice fabric and making a pair of leggings 👀 There are SO many things I look at when sourcing and developing activewear — especially when it comes to how that fabric is actually going to perform. 4-way stretch — does it move in every direction with your body? Compression — how supportive does it feel without becoming restrictive? Fabric recovery — does it bounce back after being stretched, or start going baggy? GSM — essentially the weight of the fabric. Heavier doesn’t automatically mean better. Moisture wicking — how well does it move sweat away from the body? Pilling — what happens to the surface after repeated wear and washing? Colour fastness — is that beautiful colour actually going to stay that colour? PFAS-free — something that was really important to me when sourcing the fabric for Sculpt. We changed our Sculpt fabric THREE times before I was happy with it. The final fabric is 80% recycled polyamide / 20% elastane, PFAS-free, 4-way stretch, breathable, moisture-wicking, matte and mid-compression. Because developing activewear that actually performs is a lot more technical than it looks. 🤍 Save this if you’re developing your own activewear brand — I’ll share more of the technical side of developing Sculpt next. #sportswear #fashionbrand #clothingbrandtips
