@dr.heatherderm: These politicians acting like they care, when they don't. So disappointing and performative. #dermatologist #healthcare #medicare #dermdocheather #drheatherderm @Elizabeth Warren

Please name one time Elizabeth Warren has voted for medicare/medicaid cuts. 😂 Yes obviously thats also an issue but you’re definitely going after the wrong politician on that front.

Why don’t we hear more about hospital Medicare cuts? Keep physician Medicare payments the same or increase

Stop Medicare from owning me. The government doesn’t allow me to order anything for my patients

Cut HIPPA, Macra,MIPS and regulate predatory insurance policies against physicians. Deregulation of how small practices run is the only way you’ll make being an independent physician viable.

You know what would be even easier… please adjust our compensation for inflation … we don’t want a raise… just keep us close to rate of inflation and we won’t have to sell our practices and join groups owned by private equity because overhead has become too much .

I just basically commented this exact thing on an OB/GYn influencer post today. I told her we wouldn’t be in this situation if reimbursements were what they were in the 80’s. Until then we need some involvement of private equity but NOT insurance or any part of their vertical integration!! I’m looking at you Optum!

Hmm, last I heard, median dermatologist makes $500k. So those medicare cuts don't seem to be impacting the physicians. Maybe their sinking practices just need some professional businesspeople to make sure they're running efficiently😉

I'm sorry, but this is the wrong take. Private Equity was coming regardless of those other pressures. The only difference would be the amount of money they’d throw at practice owners to get them to sell. But this is the trend in capitalism we’re seeing, and low payments are not the reason for it

Hi the MACRA was voted on in 2015… one of the main drivers of the cms decline…. And she voted No.. 2 others sponsors did vote yes, and 3 were not in office….. so the 6 are often involved in sponsoring bills that try to strengthen CMS and Medicare and care.

Private equity is backed by everyone’s 401k in vangard and other “retirement plans”. She’s a little late. She’s owned.
