oh wow was this me? I was Ray. A company in my previous career tried something very similar. I replied all pointing it out, and got the policy reversed in employees favor. My coworkers were annoyed with me! Next year when they tried it again, I didn't reply all. I emailed my manager and got my own PTO time restored, not the whole company's. I'll never be Ray again.

I cannot stress this enough. your employee handbook is a two-way contract. it does not just define how you are supposed to act within the guidelines of your contract of work. it also defines how your job is required to treat you

Read your handbook. When I left my last job, they emailed me saying they would not be paying out my remaining PTO. Well well well, guess what was in the handbook? I got my check, and they reiterated that I was lucky and it was going to be changed after I left.
