i recently started reading through Capital and the first chapter is taking me forever, it feels like such a slog and the qording can be cery confusimg and i feel like ot just repeats the same thing over and over again, do you know of amy good resources to help me better understand it? i feel like i understand the basic point he's trying to get a across but i want to be more clear

I've been reading @Tad Stoermer's book "A Resistance History of the United States" and just finished the chapter on the liberal bourgeois revolution that was the American Revolution (speaking of learning history) prior to the war for independence and what struck me is how CENTRAL it was to their revolution that they built up parallel institutions to operate in place of England's imperial institutions. Shamefully, I have not read "What is to be done?" yet (it's long overdue), but I imagine if I look at Lenin's handbook and compare it to the American Revolution, I imagine I'll find a lot of similarities.

it's funny because the last point, i actually got into ML because of history and learning about what is happening and happened. so i actually have to learn theory more

4 is so interesting! To me, history and literature are the foundation of what shifted my perspective. I might be biased as an english major but post colonial literature and African novels are essential to shaping your worldview and I think a lot of people should invest in reading works of fiction alongside theory.

i find it very interesting that you silence opinions that are different than your own on your livestreams. if we are not able to hear the other side of our arguments, how can we get anywhere? i personally welcome your opinion even though it is completely different from my own. but i guess there is a lot of censorship within communism so i shouldn’t be surprised
