Rest in peace, Orkitok… (1/3 of the Salas males) No more limping, the limp that lasted for years but never broke your spirit. No more pain, Orkitok. Sleep peacefully now in eternal rest. Orkitok, one of the mighty Salas coalition males, passed away today after sustaining serious injuries a few days ago in a fight with other lions. There were no eyewitnesses to the battle, but the wounds he suffered were deep and severe. Despite receiving help and treatment, his condition worsened until he quietly slipped away today. The Salas males began their reign in February 2019, entering the legendary Lolparpit territory as very young males. Bold and fearless, they fought Lolparpit, defeated him, mated with his females, and left; already showing the strength and confidence that would define their legacy. In 2020, they made their mark by taking down the legendary Bila Shaka ( Baba Yao ) a moment that launched them into fame. Their dominance spread across the Mara, becoming one of the most successful and feared young coalitions. They conquered multiple prides, most famously the Topi pride, which they still control today. Within it, they fathered seven strong males who now rule the Marsh pride. Orkitok fought countless battles alongside his brothers, Always standing tall, side by side. He died a warrior; his body finally giving in to battle wounds. He died as only a true lion should. Rest now, Orkitok… Tonight, your two brothers were seen guarding the Topi pride. They’ll carry on the legacy and they’ll miss you deeply.
