I have played for 17 years. I have never once ever had someone asking me about parses and shit. The min/max people are the absolute minority in the game. Across Classic, retail, whatever. They are the 1%. Not the majority.

that's true, nobody asks me what my grades were in school they only care that I graduated, nobody asks me how much I make they only care I'm employed. What a dumb take, people obviously don't ask questions like that up front because it comes across as rude and egotistical. They save those questions once they find out what kind of player you are. its like asking a person if they're a gamer and they say "Yeah I am" the next question isn't "How much have you earned?" its "What games do you play?" there's a sequence to conversation who would've thought?

OK, so I never play classic but this is actually something I’m struggling with. I heal on a resto shaman right now. I really like it. I love the tool kit. I love the visuals. It’s a lot of fun. And then I go and look at the talent Treas for classic Schauman. And what do you mean riptide is your capstone talent? I’m having a hard time imagining how fun healing can be when your Uber smell that you’ve spent 60 levels working towards is riptide.

Normally people like to win and have a challenge! I like video games because they are difficult and pose a challenge. I think classic players like to hear the birds singing in Gold shire or watch streamers.

In classic, the leveling its accually the game and IT IS HARD but the end game, retail is waaaay harder, but, it was easy to be ready, its different in that aspect

I mean, people know Xaryu, they know his credentials. Random people getting together and talking about the content they might play I can see parses or ratings coming up in conversation if it’s two people that really pour a lot of energy into those things

if I go to BlizzCon next year the first thing I'm doing is asking somebody what are your parses. like sorry I only talked to 90 plus is above. and then I have a friend there who does like 100% and be like I only talk to 95% and above

I care about my parse because it's for my self improvement. Yeah I don't talk to others about it casually but it does matter. I like to play mechanically well, it's fun to do something right

I truly feel like classic players have such a narrow and blind view of retail, I’ve never met anyone like this, in my guild we push for progression and we have a little laugh with the parses but no dig truly even understand it
