@findingmelissa: I think this is also why negative self-talk can literally keep you stuck for wayyyyy longer than you realize. Like, when something goes wrong, or you make a mistake, and instead of thinking, “Okay, I need to fix this,” it becomes even more evidence for what you already believe about yourself. So now you feel ashamed, you then stop trying as much, and start avoiding things, and eventually your life actually does become more stagnant. And now you can look around and say, “See? I told you. Look at my life.” Your circumstances might feel like proof of what you believe about yourself, while the way you believe about yourself has also been helping create those circumstances. You can hate where you are SO much that you accidentally keep yourself there. If there’s anything that I’ve learned is that you’re never going to produce change through self disgust and your constant self-contempt is genuinely draining the exact agency you need to change. #selflove #christiansofinstagram #renewyourmind #negativeselftalk #healing
