@chekmedia: A search and rescue team from 19 Wing Comox picked up another cruise ship passenger who was in “medical distress” just two days after a similar medivac took place. On Sept. 14, the Royal Canadian Air Force’s 442 Transport and Rescue Squadron, based out of 19 Wing Comox, was called to a cruise ship sailing some 450 kilometres northwest of Port Hardy for a report of an ill passenger. Video shows a CH-149 Cormorant helicopter arriving at the cruise ship, the Serenade of the Sea, then two search and rescue (SAR) technicians being lowered down onto the vessel. From there, the rescue went by the numbers. The SAR technicians strapped the patient in and hoisted them up onto the helicopter. Once the patient was on the CH-149 Cormorant, they were flown to Port Hardy where they were picked up by waiting paramedics. The rescue came just days after 19 Wing Comox crews picked up a sick passenger on another cruise ship, and shortly after the team rescued an injured crew member onboard another vessel. #porthardy #cruise #cruiseship #military #searchandrescue #vancouverisland #victoria #britishcolumbia #bc #vancouver #canada #canada🇨🇦 #canada_life🇨🇦 #news #localnews #CHEKNews #video #helicopter
