I was a fuel desk manager before, during, & after 9/11. Before 9/11, gas & diesel were both under a dollar. Of course immediately 9/11 jacked up the prices astronomically (many fuel sellers were later fined for reacting too fast with too high prices). So many trucking companies were completely extinguished. A single semi holds about 300 gallons. Going overnight from ~$300 to more than double was simply impossible for solo drivers & small companies. I've been watching the diesel prices with a lot of nervousness. I think a lot of people are not aware of how much EVERYTHING relies on trucks. The costs are going to cripple the entire country as those costs are pushed around the chain from manufacturer to customer.

I don’t know I’m not worried yet. That’s what they said in jan of last year. They said we would run out of jet fuel etc I almost didn’t book a Europe trip because I was so scared. So glad I went ahead and booked because nothing happened and I had the most amazing trip.

they are not "going to figure it out" because it's going exactly as planned. they will have plenty of diesel in a couple of weeks, but what will be different? the prices of everything, but they will remain up because everyone accepted it and made escuses for it to be up
