I will never forget hearing chug chug chug at college and coming out to see Sean, 6’6” from the basketball team, projectile vomiting milk into a trashcan he was holding at arms length.

Had a first grader tell me I was his best friend at morning recess. At lunch recess that same kid said he hoped I got hit by a truck. 🤷♀️

last year I gave a project where they had to make a children’s book about interventionism in Latin America. one kid made this beautifully illustrated book full of metaphors that genuinely made me feel things. the kid next to her did the bay of pigs using those hamster meme faces

I was both people as a teen. But I saved the milk chugging challenge from 2012 for when I was in the comfort of my own home! I know my chances of throwing up. I didn’t want to do that at school. That’s gross.

The other day I went from taking a tiny gecko from a student, and having this adorable moment with the class over this cute gecko, to being accused by another of something horrific and having admin actually considering I did it. to then later having an aha moment with a student with autism that everyone thought couldn't even barely hold a pencil. too much whiplash.
