I will never speak for another DV victim, but as for myself, the only thing that kept me in it as long as I was in, it was not having anyone around me that knew what was going on/that I could even talk to about it without being listened to/watched, and not having the money to leave and find a place that I could safely get out to. However, if I had children, I think I would’ve tried to make it work a lot faster than I did. She has the money, she has the support, she has the greatest reasons in the world to stop going back to Dakota… She chooses to stay.
