Today was a very healing and magical morning. I hadn’t been to Anderson River Park for a morning walk in a good six weeks—maybe longer. But something inside me guided me there today. As Benni and I walked along the familiar wooded path, Mama Doe came into my thoughts. Over the past several weeks, I had often wondered if she had given birth to her baby yet. As we continued walking, my thoughts shifted to memories of my beautiful Dash and how much I missed having him there with us. I asked the Universe to show me a sign that Dash was watching over Benni and me. And then I turned the corner. Right in front of me stood Mama Doe. We both startled for a moment, and she looked as though she might bolt. I softly spoke to her the way I always had during our encounters. “Hi, beautiful. It’s okay. You’re safe.” She stopped and looked at me. “It’s so good to see you. I know it’s been a long time.” And then I noticed movement in the tall grass beside her. At first I couldn’t quite see what it was. Then suddenly, there it was—her baby. The little one moved closer to Mama for security, and my heart just filled. I had wondered about this baby for so long, and now here they were, standing together right in front of me. I kept talking to her. “I see you had your baby. It’s beautiful. You did such a good job. You’re such a good mama. I’m so proud of you.” Mama and I continued looking at one another, and after a little while, her baby finally turned and looked our way too. For a few moments, I simply stood there and took it all in. The stillness. The beauty. The timing of it. Eventually, I said goodbye, and Benni and I slowly continued down the trail toward the river. We found a bench and sat looking out over the water when suddenly I heard splashing. I turned toward the sound, and a tiny head popped above the surface. Then it flipped over, and a little tail appeared. A baby otter. I watched for several minutes as the little one played in the current—popping its head up, peeking toward us over the water, then diving back underneath again. It was absolutely adorable. And in that moment, I realized how deeply I had needed this morning. I needed something gentle. Something beautiful. Something that could bring a little light back into my spirit. I am a spiritual person, and I believe in signs and synchronicities. I believe there are moments and messages all around us if we are willing to slow down long enough to notice them. This morning, I asked. And the Universe answered in the most beautiful way. Mama Doe. Her baby. A tiny otter playing in the river. And somewhere within all of it, the quiet feeling that Dash was still here and still close.🐾🪽🩷 Today brought me peace. It brought me healing. And most of all, it reminded me to keep my heart open to the magic that can appear when I least expect it. For that, I am deeply grateful. 🦌🦦🐾🪽💜✨ #soulfirereflections #lindasoulfire #nature #synchronicity #healing
