What you are saying here is simply incorrect. Responsibility for what happened lies with her treating physicians and the medical care she received. She was psychotic at the time of the offense. Under criminal law, a person who was legally insane or otherwise lacked criminal responsibility due to psychosis at the time of the offense may not be held criminally responsible, depending on the applicable jurisdiction and legal standard.

Lindsay needs to be prevented from ever having another child. Watching all of the trial evidence, she knew exactly what she was doing and she knew that it was wrong. She does not meet the legal definition of insanity.
