@therapistinrecovery: Our brains so quickly pathologize and want to “solve” our feelings. But “solving” our feelings is actually an emotional avoidance mechanism that gets us way more stuck. MOST feelings don’t need to be solved they need to be normalized and allowed. And overthinking our feelings is not the same as accepting them. Paradoxically, acceptance MUST happen first if we want to actually improve anxiety and ocd. I traveled to another country for a concert to see my fav band ever during the concert i didn’t feel a thing and then I woke up today and i can’t stop thinking about it. I woke with anxiety an crying all that. I think this is happening to me.
