@npr: Gas and diesel prices continue to soar. AAA says the price of regular gasoline rose another seven cents overnight, to nearly $4.44 a gallon — a price that's never been higher this late in the year. Diesel, meanwhile, hit another all-time high today, too, jumping nearly nine cents overnight, to nearly $6.40 a gallon. The conflict in Iran is forcing up prices, but Saudi Arabia’s oil exports have been slashed recently, too, because of its renewed war with the Houthi rebels in neighboring Yemen. 🛑Hamdan🛑 :
If oil prices keep rising and diesel reaches $15 while the minimum wage remains behind inflation, America may face a cost of living crisis where people work more, pay more, and still afford less.

We need to have emergency policy in that restricts the amount of oil our companies can sell over seas because that’s where they prioritize their fuel sales. Basically oil and gas companies make more on their profits when selling overseas vs domestic. But an emergency policy like this to be activated during war time could ease US fuel prices. The companies would make less but they can bite that bullet and be fine vs the rest of us. It’s also stupid one has to consider making something like this because Trump fell for netanyahus 30 year repertoire of BS. But for future things we should do that vs let these companies focus on profit

The reason the gas is expensive is because the big gas companies are raising prices and blaming it on the war, we get 60% of oil here in the us and our largest foreign supplier is Canada. It’s not the war it’s gas companies fooling us

People seem to forget that oil is a global market and all oil produced in the US is under private companies that would use you to oil the cogs before they’d crack open a barrel they could sell. Oil being restricted to any degree will raise prices globally, and it’s being restricted a lot.
