per the rules of commander, take backs are allowed as long as no other game actions have been taken and no new information has been gained. in my experience, not allowing take backs only serves to make games longer and more boring because now everyone has to be super careful and triple check everything before making a play. the only exceptions imo are things like ward.

It depends from pod to pod, but if I'm not mistaken the rules say that as long you didn't get new information (Drawing cards, searching your deck etc) you have the right to take an action back

My playgroups usually ebs and flows with take-backs. If decks aren’t optimized and the boards full of keywords and triggers, a misplay will usually be offered a re-do. But if tensions are high and decks are popping off, a misplay is a “get good” moment 🤣
