I purchased my house in 2003 for $510k at 7.75% interest. What has changed the most that no one talks about is the outrageous property taxes, and insurance premiums to have that home. That drastically add to mortgage payments. Not to mention some neighborhoods you pay Meloroos and HOA fees.

If they lowered mortgage rates the people who have low rates would probably refinance and cash out to pay off these high credit cards. So many people are just sitting on equity. This would stimulate the economy
