@leokatieocdadhd: 1. The fear of “going insane” 😵💫 Many people with OCD fear “going crazy,” “snapping,” or feel like they’re losing their mind due to the nature of OCD symptoms & themes. 2. The fear of developing schizophrenia or DID 🌀 Many OCD sufferers worry about developing mental health disorders like schizophrenia or DID (dissociative identity disorder). This could be the main OCD theme or an additional worry triggered by OCD symptoms. 3. The fear of blurting out something inappropriate 🤐 A common experience that many people with OCD have dealt with is the fear of blurting out something inappropriate, like shouting out swear words or saying your intrusive thoughts out loud without wanting to. 4. Worries about other people being able to tell what you’re thinking 👀 Many people with OCD worry about other people somehow finding out what they’re thinking about when they have intrusive thoughts. 5. The “What if it isn’t OCD?” Meta OCD 🔄 It’s common for OCD to show up as doubt about your OCD diagnosis or symptoms. 6. The fear of being a bad person 🫣 Many people with OCD deal with this fear. You might experience moral scrupulosity OCD, where your worries revolve around the fear of being a bad person, or this might be triggered by disturbing intrusive thoughts or taboo OCD themes.
