Before we even found out the gender of our first, my husband and I were so set on the name Baker. It has a special meaning to both of us, I lost a childhood friend to cancer and her last name was Baker, and my husbands childhood best friend also had the last name Baker. It was special and meant a lot to us.. and then we started sharing it with people and so many people had their opinions and told us not to use it. And it literally made me question if we should actually name him that until a couple weeks before he was born. Anytime somebody asked us what we were gonna name him we said we weren’t sure, even though we knew deep down we were going to do Baker. People’s opinions do make you question, so that’s why we chose not to tell people with our next. And probably won’t this time either!

We told one person when I was pregnant with my first and we never shared again. Not even for our other two kids. The one person was my aunt and she said that the first name was too long and that she didn’t like the middle name. MIND YOU SHE ONLY ASKED IF WE HAD A NAME PICKED OUT not if she could share her opinion!
