To begin, she was an exploited child star, shielded from the reality of the world by the words of her father, who insisted she would always be a talented. But real life took over as she grew up, the industry said she was a failure and could never be a success again, and her sister Blanche was the one to take over the spotlight, celebrated as one of the best artists of the time. And then an accident happened, and Blanche became paraplegic. The world - including Blanche herself - told Jane she was guilty for it. She was a horrible person, doing such a terrible thing to her own sister. Jane believed every word. She became the monster she was told she was. ‘’You were not ugly then, I made you that way’’ - Blanche confessed in her last moments. That whole time, they could have been friends.
