@thetelegraph: “This is Ranulph Fiennes we’re talking about... Surely at some point, someone’s got to ask: ‘Where’s Ran?’” In March this year, members of his inner circle made contact with The Telegraph. They were wary and discreet. Ranulph Fiennes is no stranger to outlandish escapades. But the story I was told seemed implausible, even for him. Perhaps he is in decline and a man so accomplished as n adventurer would rather mystery be his end rather than sadness.

I tried to read the article on this on the Telegraph website, but it was so long and tedious, full of irrelevant detail, I gave up.

Saw a documentary he made with his cousin Joseph Fiennes a couple of years ago, is his wife preventing contact with family members. Very strange

I met and spoke with him in June 2025 at an exhibition in South Wales. He was spritely yet extremely shaky. Wonderful man with amazing stories

A member of the aristocracy with great privilege, money and options disappears… let’s worry about those in poverty with no connections and privelege and where they are?

He is 81, and no doubt wants peace and quiet. And with all his conquests and expeditions .... i would expect some damage to not only his brain but also the years of stress he put his body through...

I know someone who knows him well, who said a few years ago his mind was drifting. Sad end to a great man if true.

I recall the advertising captain he did with Karrimor in the mid-late 90's where he was photographed sitting in mountains somewhere with the tagine "call in sick". A few years later I was lucky enough to be his mechanic at a bike race he was taking part in and got to spend time talking with him. A wonderfully down to earth man that's had an extraordinary life. I hope he's happy, well, and safe.

This happened to a distant family member of mine who had very early stages of Alzheimer’s with very few symptoms. She had millions in the bank and the people who were to benefit when she died put her into a care home and attempted to sell her house from under her. Luckily my aunt managed to get her out and care for her herself.

How bizarre! Check his will if the second wife gets everything I would be very worried and incredibly suspicious of anything and everything.
