I once had the privilege of wearing the uniform as a cabin crew member of PAL Express and Qatar Airways. a career filled with unforgettable experiences, beautiful destinations, wonderful colleagues, and countless lessons that I will forever carry with me. But sometimes, life asks us to choose what matters most. I decided to resign from my flying career because my mom got sick. At that time, being with my family and being there for my mom was more important to me than anything else. ❤️ After stepping away from aviation, I eventually tried to return to the skies. I applied to Riyadh Air, Emirates, Etihad, and Cebu Pacific. And I was rejected. Yes — even with previous experience as cabin crew for PAL Express and Qatar Airways, I still experienced rejection. At first, it was difficult to accept. You might think that having experience, especially with well-known airlines, should guarantee another opportunity. But the truth is, it doesn't. And that's okay. Rejection does not erase your experience. It does not erase your skills. It does not erase the years you spent serving passengers, overcoming challenges, working with different cultures, and becoming the professional you are today. Sometimes, a rejection simply means “not this time.” To everyone who has been rejected by an airline — whether you're a first-time applicant or an experienced crew member — please don't be discouraged. Your journey is not defined by one interview, one assessment, one rejection email, or one airline. Keep improving. Keep learning. Keep applying when you're ready. Keep believing in yourself. And remember: even experienced cabin crew can be rejected. There is no shame in starting again. There is no shame in being told “no.” And there is no shame in taking a different path for your family. I may have left aviation once for my family, and perhaps my journey back to the skies will take longer than I expected.
