I buy milk direct from a local farmer £2.50 for 2 litres of raw milk. I could buy whole milk in supermarkets probably for in around £1.65. Hopefully he is getting the margin he needs from selling direct off the farm.

I buy most of my milk from a farm & it tastes much better than what you buy in the shops it a little dearer than the shops but worth it as there no additives & it does cost the farmer a lot to set these things up but very rewarding in the end & maybe you will one day look into installing a vending machine sir

The sad thing is.. That's not the entire difference in price in a litre.. You make whole milk, they use the same litre for milk, yoghurt, cheese, cream.... They just replace the good stuf with water, and sell for more then double... The biggest profits are made with byproducts... So, the difference in price is more like 5x

A lot of guys I be chatting is around the 40p costs, there has to be an improvement the 90s milk price in 2026 no other industry would still be in business

I buy from the farmer the milk in the supermarkets is water the difference is unreal. Would you not start upna farm shop sell some of your milk direct to the customer
