@creating.kev: One take wednesday vol.4 (oops forgot to post yesterday) This week we got over 2000+ new users for Cloey but last week I was in a rough place and almost wanted to quit This is the reality of building something on your own, there’s all these ups and downs. And especially if you are a solo founder, making all these decisions can be highkey overwhelming Felt kinda discouraged last week because I had a terrible 0.2% paid conversion rate which I attributed to my generous freemium plan. However, when I switched on a hard paywall, my conversion rate didn’t change. This sucked because I felt like a failure, I didn’t validate my app with customers early enough and I was scared nobody would pay for an app like this at all But I posted my video last week sharing my struggles and tons of people came to support. I got flooded with dms and recommendations which gave me tons of new ideas to implement. Now we are hitting 7% trial start rate after making a ton of experimental changes to my onboarding. Next is to create a better activation flow so my users know what to do once they get inside my app. Thanks to everyone for the support and I’m really happy to be building in public with this community.
