@slava_ukrain3_brothers: 🎯—[INCIDENT REPORT // C-UAS AIR DEFENSE SECTOR]—🎯 Operators from the "Posipaka" C-UAS [Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems] team (39th Anti-Aircraft Missile Regiment) and Wild Hornets ("Dyki Shershni") deploy specialized FPV [First-Person View] quadcopters equipped with custom 12-gauge shotgun modules to intercept enemy reconnaissance multirotors over active frontline sectors. Micro-Detail Intel: • Recoilless Shotgun Payload: The interceptor drone utilizes a custom modified 12-gauge smoothbore barrel equipped with countercharge venting to absorb recoil, allowing the drone to fire mid-air without losing flight stabilization. • Terminal Interception Envelope: Operators maneuver into a close-range tail-chase or top-down attack vector within 5 to 15 meters before firing buckshot rounds. • Reusable Platform Advantage: By replacing single-use explosive warheads with kinetic ammunition, the host FPV quadcopter remains intact and reusable for subsequent air defense sorties, vastly outperforming disposable kamikaze drones in cost efficiency. Hardware & Cost Asymmetry Analysis: • 12-Gauge Anti-Drone Cartridge / Sortie Cost: $20 / €18 / £15 • Reusable FPV Interceptor Base Airframe: $500 / €455 / £370 • Enemy Reconnaissance Quadcopter (DJI Mavic 3T Platform): $4,500 / €3,825 / £3,285 • Financial Asymmetry ROI [Return On Investment]: ~225 : 1 Ratio ($4,500 / €3,825 / £3,285 target loss vs $20 / €18 / £15 ammunition expenditure per intercept). How do you evaluate the tactical viability of shotgun-equipped interceptor drones compared to net-catchers or dedicated air-to-air missiles for point defense? Share your analysis below!
