My friend died at 31 from colorectal cancer shortly after giving birth to twins. She would have never even know if she wasn’t pregnant at the time. Absolutely devastating. I miss her so much.

I had a colonoscopy for unrelated issues (IBS-d, they wanted to rule out other things), dr said before I was wheeled in that I wasn’t likely going to find any polyps. Well turns out I had 6, and 5 were pre cancerous. I was 35 at the time.

I’m a vegetarian with no symptoms and no tummy issues and they found a large polyp that they were able to remove. My husband who eats a ton of meat and has lots of irritable bowel issues had a totally clear colonoscopy. Go get tested everyone!

I have self diagnosed IBS, no other stomach issues. I have made it known I will be getting a colonoscopy before I turn 30 and people say I’m crazy. I always say women under 40 die from colon cancer most so why would I wait till FIVTY!!!

For those wondering why the screening age for average risk people is 45, 1 out of 15,000 people will get diagnosed with colon cancer before the age of 40. 1 out of 2000 people will suffer a colon perforation during colonoscopy.
