@pawportunities_rescue: Since June 6th, Dolly Parton has found herself in 3 different shelters. The first was a high kill pound. Another rescue saved her before she met an inevitable fate there. She was in that rescue shelter for about 3 months, and has since transferred to Pawportunities shelter. While she was at the previous rescue shelter, it was discovered she was heartworm positive. She has been treated for them during her time there, and is now 50 days past her last injection. She is ready to begin acclimating exercise back into her daily routine. The problem is, she’s never been in a home setting to even have a daily routine. She’s a 2 year old hound mix that weighs 38 pounds, and she is an absolute doll! She sits on her kennel day after day, and sees other dogs get their chance, but not her. That takes a toll, and is a heavy weight to carry. She has shown nothing by love, affection, and a happy personality. Now her tail barely wags. She’s a girl that once wore a smile on her face, eyes lit bright. You can see the days that have turned into weeks, and weeks that have turned into months, are starting to wear on her. It only takes one person to see Dolly Parton, and see what we see, to take the next step and open up their heart and home to foster or adopt this beautiful brown eyed girl!
