Homemade Pumpkin Spice Black Tea🍂 When you want a cozy PSL moment but don’t necessarily want a super sugary coffee or a ton of caffeine. I made mine with Irish Breakfast black tea. It’s a bold, hearty black tea that works SO well with pumpkin and warm spices You can totally customize the tea ✨ Black tea → a little caffeine ✨ Chai tea → extra fall spice ✨ Decaf black tea or decaf chai → cozy nighttime version with little/no caffeine ✨ Herbal/rooibos tea → another naturally caffeine free option Ingredients • 1 black tea bag (I used 3 tbs Happy Lucky’s Irish Breakfast. Use whatever black tea, chai, or decaf tea you like) • ¼ cup boiling water • ¾ cup milk of choice • 2 tbsp real pumpkin purée • 1 tbsp maple syrup or honey (use less for a lower sugar version) • ½ tsp pumpkin pie spice(you can buy pumpkin pie spice already made or make your own like I did with clove, allspice, ground nutmeg, ginger, and cinnamon) • ¼ tsp vanilla extract • Optional: extra pumpkin spice on top ✨ 🍂 Directions 1. Brew your tea: Pour ¼ cup boiling water over your tea bag or brew your tea in french press and steep for about 5 minutes. 2. Make the pumpkin milk: Add milk, pumpkin purée, maple syrup/honey and pumpkin pie spice to a small saucepan. Warm over medium heat, whisking until hot and steamy don’t boil. 3. Add vanilla: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla. Froth or blend until creamy and foamy. 4. Combine: Pour the pumpkin milk mixture over your brewed tea, stir and top with a little extra pumpkin spice. 🎃 Pumpkin: Naturally provides beta-carotene, which your body can convert to vitamin A, plus some fiber and potassium. 🍂 Cinnamon: Contains antioxidant compounds and adds a ton of flavor without needing extra sugar. 🫚 Ginger: Traditionally used to support digestion and can be soothing for the stomach. 🌰 Nutmeg: Contains antioxidant plant compounds and gives that warm cozy flavor a little goes a long way! 🌿 Clove: Especially rich in antioxidant compounds and adds that deep warming spice. 🍁 Maple syrup/honey: A little natural sweetness to balance the pumpkin and spices. Still added sugar though so you can reduce it if you’re looking for a lighter drink. 🌸 Vanilla: Mostly here for flavor but it makes the pumpkin and spices taste better without needing as much sweetener. And if you’re making this as a nighttime drink choose decaf black tea, decaf chai, rooibos, or another caffeine free tea since regular Irish Breakfast black tea still contains caffeine. Enjoy🍂✨#pumpkinspice #fallrecipes #pumpkinseason #herbalmedicine
